Fantastic bar in the heart of Kelham Island, they offer a range of wines and cocktails that change regularly! A great selection of traditional Spanish meats and cheeses on bread, and other small plates including arancini, with specials changing weekly. The staff are brilliant and take the time to recommend drinks according to your preference. Very easy to spend an evening here!
Had my 40th birthday party hosted here, Cat, Jonny and the team were very accommodating and welcoming through the whole process. A wide range of pintxos and snacks were put on for guests, we had use of the projector and sound system too in the private function room. Had lots of positive feedback from guests about the space, the food, the drinks and the staff. What more could you need? Would heartily recommend Merchants House for any parties/functions, and will be making sure I am frequent visitor in the future.
We love this place! Staff are so lovely and kind! Music and atmosphere are unifique too! The pinxos are delicious and I’m a very good price.
Absolutely love this place! Great for after dinner drinks, snacks, a good sit down with friends and everything in between 🤣 There's little happy hours which are great if you're nearby. The little pinxos are sold individually so it's easy to have a little bite or plan something bigger. Suits everyone. Top veggie options, too. I love the drinks. Beers are cracking but the wine is gorg and so are their spritz'. The square/ court got some lovely little bits going on. Great vibes all around 😻
We stopped by briefly on our way to Peddlar market and wished we'd planned the whole evening here. Service warm, friendly and helpful and especially with advice on how much food is too much/little food (always a challenge with pinxtos and small plates). As it was, we had the perfect amount and can vouch for the boquerones being great value and as good as any we've had in the Basque country. Lovely, interesting wine list and great selection of beers. Will be back to try the Basque cider and see how messy the traditional pour gets.
