Got a parking charge from this car park after paying for it on the app PayByPhone. Payed the full amount and left 2 hours before it expired. After appealing and showing proof I payed for the car park they said I payed for "Sheffield City Car Park" instead of Harrow Street. My proof of purchase clearly shows that the location name was Harrow Street Car Park. Absolutely ridiculous and they need to sort out their online app payments if it does not work. DO NOT PARK HERE. EDIT: The machine on the footpath outside of the car park is not the machine to pay for the car park. This is incredibly naughty and misleading for anyone not familiar with the area and should be illegal to do.
My experience has been the same as Reece's. I have reached out to the operator in hope that they will revoke the charge in line with their commitment to ethical treatment of their customers and the community. I will gladly edit this post if I reach an amicable solution to this issue. I hope Bank Park works with the council to remove the misleading placement of parking payment machines.
Been through the same scam as Reece & Anna, thought I’d paid for a ticket, but had to pay a £170 parking charge which I can’t afford at all. The placement of the machine is so cunning and deceptive, look at the photos from one of the other reviews - it should be illegal. The council car parking machine is practically on the private car park and is labelled “Harrow Street”. I’ve reluctantly paid after being threatened with permanent credit penalties. Bank Park (supposed to be a “charitable organisation” 🙄) have been using the legal complexity of the scenario to extort people. When I contacted Bank Park about the scenario, they told me to contact the council. But, when I contacted the council, they told me to contact Bank Park! I would take this to court if I could, but tribunals won’t take the case because it has a foot in both camps (council and private), and I’m too skint to pay a lawyer. If someone is affected by this in the future and is thinking of taking it to court, give me a shout at @jackcraw4 on Instagram and I’ll back your claim.
