I'm not sure if giving one star, is being exactly fair to this store? Especially given how badly they handled a situation today, that was started, by a crazed female customer that I was then, accused of starting! I'm suggesting a zero, or minus -zero, marking system. Perhaps that would make scoring this store much fairer. I've read your reviews, good, bad, and indifferent, and in my experience the reviews that are the most uncomfortable for you to read, should be the ones you take most seriously. Your staff and yourself have let me down and for this you should be ashamed. You all stood by whilst a deranged vile woman, lunged into me verbally because in her view I should go and stand anywhere but next to her.You all decided that I wasn't worth listening to but the deranged woman was. The guy on the counter should be especially ashamed. He let himself down by allowing this truly bad customer to continue abusing me, even though it was clear, I was saying nothing. Just for his notice, when I left the shop she was almost at the road opposite BUT she stormed back! and started to abuse me all over again! I hope you're all proud of yourselves you aided her to keep abusing me. You want to know why ? Because the guy on the counter, and indeed none of you, took a moment to think about what had really just happened. Instead by saying and doing nothing you gave this deranged woman, the green light to continue her vile attack on me outside. I have a question mark about the leadership in this store, It could be a better store, but I sense you won't change, and because of that, you deserve to loose valuable customers. Just a small reminder to your people who present the goods, or maybe it's just the manergeress who does this job, I agree with others posted above you're more or less losing a grip on competing with other charity shops. You seem to have lost the formula that the shop once had.You used to be a shop where a serious bargain could be got, but, over the last couple years, or so, you're become very lack-lustre, lacking in imagination, lacking in creativity. Much of a muchness. A little piece of advice to you all, we're all paying customers, yes you can loose one or two here and there and wish them good riddance, but if you're loosing good staff as well as good customers, (and that's you, not me, as I can find far more decent C.Shops anywhere in Sheffield) you'll be needing to do a whole lot of serious soul searching. Why has the shop gone downhill ? Why are the goods so poor? And more importantly why is it that the shop, cow-tows to certain individuals and not others? Not hard to find a properly run charity shop in Sheffield, thank heavens, but you're not one of them. Good luck, I sense you'll need it.

Repeated Misconduct by Staff Member Jamie We love barnados, we are a family who moved recently from Dubai and am work for NHS. We have been a regular customer. I mean daily customers of Bernardo since 2023. ( I will attach all my transaction for a proof). Every time we enter we come out buying something. Barnados always suprised us with lots of gifts. Staffs are fabulous very much down to earth especially a young lady with glasses. She always welcomes everyone with a smile. Me and my wife drops our kid to school and come passing from barnados everyday. It was like daily routine for us to get to see what Brandon surprises us with. Recently we had a bad experience with one of the staff named Jamie. We have observed his inappropriate behavior toward female customers on multiple occasions, which we initially ignored. We observed him many times staring at females customs in an inappropriate manner but it has been increased at our recent time visits as he has been following and passing comments on my wife and it's made us NOT to visit Barbados to avoid any unpleasant talks in front of other customers. That unpleasant scenario made us uncomfortable and hesitant to visit as frequently as we once did. The most distressing incident occurred today approximately at 1153pm (if you wanted to re-check the CCTV footage) Me and my wife as usual after long time visited Barbados and brought few things. We were at the billing counter paying the bill and while exiting from the shop my wife came across another kitchen utensil which we wanted to purchase while checking on the item. The same staff members popped up from somewhere rushing towards us and comment in a very rude manner in a louder voice literally shouting at my wife in front of other customer and a staff witnessed it. We felt really insulted Infront of the whole crowd. This public humiliation left my wife emotionally distressed and deeply embarrassed. Out of respect for the public setting, I refrained from reacting at the moment, but I did inquire about the staff member’s name at the billing counter, where another employee confirmed that it was Jamie. I took time and wrote all this to make the Bernardo management aware of this incident as such behavior is completely unacceptable. I expect a formal response outlining what actions will be taken to address this issue. If I or my family experience any further misconduct from this staff member, I will escalate this matter to the local authorities without hesitation with solid proof. Despite this unfortunate experience, we will continue to support Barnardo’s because of the many wonderful staff members who make it a pleasant place to visit. However, I trust that the management team will handle this complaint appropriately to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all customers.

Incompetent staff. I got asked to pay again for my items as the first payment didn't go through according to them. In fact, it did and I got charged twice! Proven fact on my banking app. Also told very rudely that I should have kept the receipt. Sorry but you should not have charged me twice? I was also told in a child like manner that they can't give a refund right now and will contact head office. Haven't heard a thing. Even after sending multiple emails. Yes, you're a charity shop but you still need customer service. Sort it out. I'm still waiting for my refund.
