Imagine a cosy evening filled with amazing food, great company, and the warm feeling that comes from helping a good cause. That's exactly what's happening in North Yorkshire. The team at Charlie & Ivy's a food brand from Thixendale, are back with another of their brilliant charity Supper Club events, and it sounds like a proper treat. After two sell-out evenings, they're gearing up for the third one, and it promises to be just as special.

These gatherings aren't just about eating delicious food; they're about bringing people together to support a local charity doing incredible work.

Charlie & Ivy's New Festive Treats

More than just a supper

Let's be honest, going out for a nice meal is great. But when that meal also helps people in need, it feels even better. That's the whole idea behind this series of four producer-led supper clubs. The goal is to raise £1,000 for HOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group) York Street Kitchen, a fantastic charity that prepares and gives out meals to people who are struggling with food poverty. It's a simple, direct way to make a difference. The first two events have already been a huge hit, creating a real buzz.

Jennie Palmer, the marketing manager for Charlie & Ivy's, has seen first-hand how much people are enjoying them. She said: "Over the course of the four events, we're hoping to raise £1,000 for HOPING, who prepare and distribute meals for people in food poverty. The first two events were a great success, with delicious food and seasonally inspired dishes." It's clear these aren't just any old dinner parties; they are thoughtfully planned experiences. And the good word is spreading, partly thanks to the efforts of publicity teams like three60 marketing and Tracey Baty who help get the news out about these wonderful community events.

A taste of Yorkshire storytelling

So, what's planned for the next supper? The third charity supper club is set for the 19th of September at The Cook's Place in Malton, a town famous for its amazing food scene. For anyone who loves cooking or just eating, The Cook's Place is a bit of a local gem. It specialises in all sorts of cooking courses, from seafood to baking, making it a hub for food enthusiasts of all skill levels. On the night, guests will be welcomed with drinks and appetisers before sitting down for a three-course supper.

The menu is being created and cooked by Gilly Robinson, the owner of The Cook's Place, so everyone is in for a treat. This time, the spotlight is on York-based Puckett's Pickles. The dishes will feature their brilliant range of pickles, chutneys, and jams, which are all about celebrating British flavours. The founder of Puckett's Pickles, Sarah Puckett, will also be there to share some stories. Apparently, she's a fantastic storyteller! Jennie Palmer added, "Sarah Puckett's range of delightfully British pickles, chutneys, condiments and jams is made using British ingredients to recipes inspired by her forefathers. She's a natural orator, and we're looking forward to her storytelling as we enjoy delicious home-cooked food." It sounds like the perfect combination of great food and fascinating history, all in the heart of Malton.

A community of local producers

One of the best things about these events is how they bring together so many brilliant local producers from North Yorkshire. It's a real team effort. Charlie & Ivy's themselves are based on a farm at Breckenholme, where their parent company produces award-winning, cold-pressed rapeseed oil. Not sure what that means? Basically, they gently press the seeds from the rapeseed plant to get the oil out, which keeps all its natural, nutty flavour and goodness. It's this fantastic oil that forms the base of their dressings, marinades, and mayonnaises. But it's not just them. The supper club gets a helping hand from a whole host of local heroes. Jennie Palmer explained:

"Thanks to the generosity of Sarah and other local producers, including Luke's Bakery, Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice, Rare Bird Distillery and Yorkshire Sea Salt, all of the proceeds after costs will go to HOPING." This collaboration is what makes the North Yorkshire food community so special. Everyone chips in, from the bread supplied by Luke's Bakery to the drinks from Rare Bird Distillery, ensuring the supper is a true taste of the region, and it helps the charity even more.

Doing good never tasted so good

It's one thing to read about an event, but it's another to hear from someone who has actually been. Louise Higham from Helmsley was a guest at the first supper club and had nothing but good things to say about it. "I can highly recommend one of these events," she said. "We had a fabulous evening and the food was delicious! Thank you to all involved in making our evening one to remember." Her glowing review shows just how special these evenings are. With only 12 tickets available for each supper, the atmosphere is intimate and friendly. It's a chance to meet new people, hear directly from the people who make the food, and enjoy a unique meal you won't find anywhere else. And all the while, every penny of profit goes directly to the HOPING charity, supporting their vital work.
