|There are some things in life that just belong together. Fish and chips. Tea and biscuits. And now, a combination so genius it's a wonder it didn't happen sooner: an absolutely massive chocolate cake and some seriously good peanut butter. The brains at Get Baked, who are known for their wild desserts, have teamed up with the peanut butter wizards at ManiLife.
They've taken an already famous cake and given it a nutty makeover that sounds completely over the top, in the best way possible. This isn't just any cake; it's a social media sensation getting a crunchy, salty upgrade.

Meet Peanut Butter Bert, the cake that's gone viral
First, it's important to understand that this isn't your average slice of Victoria sponge. The original cake is called Bert, and he's a bit of a legend. He's a towering 16-layer monster, made of eight layers of dark chocolate cake and eight layers of rich, silky chocolate ganache. Get Baked is known for going big, and Bert is their heavyweight champion, famous for his sheer size and incredibly rich flavour. He's the sort of cake that gets whispered about online, with pictures going viral just because of how ridiculously indulgent he is. But now, things are about to get even crazier.
The team has created a limited edition version called Peanut Butter Bert. They've taken the original chocolate masterpiece and swirled in thick, crunchy, salty ManiLife Deep RoastâCrunchy Peanut Butter. So, you still get that intense chocolate hit, but now it's laced with a nutty, savoury flavour that cuts through the sweetness. The creators spent months perfecting this, using a staggering 1,600kg of peanut butter in the testing process for this special batch. It's a purposeful collision of two brands that are obsessed with taste and quality, and this collaboration proves it.
What's so special about this peanut butter?
ManiLife isn't your average spread from the supermarket. Their Deep Roast⢠Crunchy peanut butter has a story. It was actually born from a happy accident. A batch of peanuts was left roasting for a bit too long, and instead of being ruined, they developed an incredibly intense, deep flavour that no one else had. It was a game-changer. They now make it on purpose, of course, sourcing their high-quality peanuts from a single farm in Argentina to make sure every jar has that signature taste. It's this unique, roasty flavour that makes Peanut Butter Bert so special. The slight bitterness and saltiness of the peanut butter perfectly balance the sweet, rich chocolate.
ManiLife founder Stu Macdonald said: "Great things often happen when you push things too far - Deep Roast is case in point; a batch of burned peanuts became the greatest peanut butter innovation in history. Some might say that Peanut Butter Bert is pushing things too far, and they'd probably be right. But they'd also be right if they said it was THE most deliciously indulgent, outrageous cake creation, ever made. I can't wait. The masses are going to go absolutely mad for it."
It's not just a slice of cake, it's a whole bundle
When Get Baked does something, they do it properly. This isn't just about getting a slice of cake. The Peanut Butter Bert experience comes as a complete bundle, designed for maximum enjoyment. Here's what you get:
- A massive slice of the 16-layer Peanut Butter Bert cake.
- A pot of ManiLife's Cocoa Dusted Peanuts. These are peanuts caramelised in small batches and then coated in rich cocoa and sea salt for extra crunch and flavour.
- A generous serving of a brand-new Peanut Butter Fudge Sauce, made for pouring all over everything.
The idea is to stack, drench, and devour. The combination of the soft, rich cake, the crunchy, salty peanuts, and the smooth, sweet fudge sauce creates a texture and flavour explosion. It's a dessert that's designed to be an event in itself. These extra things take an already ridiculous cake into what could only be called obsession territory. The founder of Get Baked, Rich Myers, has a reputation for his no-nonsense approach to desserts, and this is no exception.
Rich Myers, added: "This Peanut Butter Bert bundle is an unholy union of chocolate and peanuts in the best bloody way possible. We don't mess with Bert unless it's worth it, and ManiLife's Deep Roast takes him to another level. Bolder and nuttier, he's completely unhinged now and we're all here for it."
How to get your hands on this limited edition cake
Now for the important bit. This is a very limited edition release, with only 10,000 bundles available in total. Given that Get Baked is known for viral sell-outs and crazy demand, these are expected to disappear fast. The cake will be available in two cities at the same time, giving more people a chance to try it.
The Peanut Butter Bert bundle will be available to buy in-store from 12 pm on Saturday, 2nd August. You can find it at:
- The Get Baked store in Headingley, Leeds.
- The Get Baked store in Stevenson Square, Manchester.
The bundle will cost £22. For anyone who can't make it to a store on Saturday, the bundle will also be available for nationwide delivery online from Friday, 1st August. This means you can get all the components delivered to your door and assemble your slice of cake madness at home. But a word of warning: whether you're heading to the Leeds store or the Manchester one, or trying your luck online, you'll need to be quick. This nutty collaboration won't be around for long.
