There's been a bit of buzz around Bradford lately, and for good reason. One of the Bantams' star players has just picked up a massive award, proving all his hard work is paying off. And if that wasn't enough, there's a bit of a diary shuffle for an upcoming fixture that fans need to know about. So, let’s get into what’s been happening down at the University of Bradford Stadium.

Neufville's cracking month

September was quite the month for Josh Neufville. The Bradford City AFC wing-back was on fire, and his brilliant performances have officially been recognised. He’s been named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month. That’s a pretty big deal! It's the kind of award every player in the league wants to get their hands on, and for this month, it belongs to a Bantam.

What did he do to deserve it? Well, he found the back of the net in three games one after another. Think about that pressure. He scored in the fantastic 3-1 wins against both Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City. But the real nail-biter was against Blackpool. The game was tight, a proper tense affair at the University of Bradford Stadium, and it was Josh Neufville who scored the only goal, securing a 1-0 victory for Bradford City AFC. That single goal made all the difference, sending the home fans wild. It’s moments like that which earn a player an award like this. This is the first Player of the Month award of his career, and after a performance like that, it feels very well deserved. He's been a menace for other teams, both in attack and defence for the Bantams.

A bit of hard work goes a long way

When someone gets a big personal award like this, it’s always interesting to hear what they have to say. Josh Neufville, a key player for Bradford, seems like a pretty grounded bloke. He was obviously chuffed, but he was quick to share the praise around. A lot of hard work goes into every single match.

Neufville said:

“I am grateful to receive this award, it is something I have always wanted to achieve on a personal level. Without the help of the players and staff at the club, this would not have been possible. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to allow us to show the best versions of ourselves on a matchday.”

His manager, Graham Alexander, was just as pleased. It’s one thing for a player to perform well, but it’s another for them to fit into the team culture. Alexander clearly thinks Neufville has done both. Having a supportive manager like Graham Alexander makes a huge difference for any player, especially after joining a new club. The manager’s backing is a sign that the hard work on the training ground is being noticed.

His manager, Graham Alexander, added:

“We are all delighted for Josh to win this award, it is very much deserved. He has made a great impact since joining and shown a great attitude to fit in straight away. We are very happy with his progress, which has been ably supported by his teammates.”

This award is a testament to the effort put in by everyone at Bradford City AFC.

Change of plans for the Lincoln fixture

Now, onto the other bit of news. Anyone with tickets for the home game against Lincoln City needs to get their calendar out. The original date for this Sky Bet League One fixture has been moved. The match was supposed to happen on Saturday October 11, but it's been postponed.

The new date for the fixture is Tuesday October 28, with a 7.45pm kick-off at the University of Bradford Stadium. It’s a bit of a pain when dates change, but there’s a good reason for it. The change is down to international call-ups for the Lincoln City team. This is when players are selected to go and play for their country's national team. It’s a huge honour for them, but it means their club team is left a bit short-handed. So, the league allows for the match to be rearranged. This ensures the Bantams face them at full strength in a proper competitive game later in the month. It’s all part of the football world, especially when you have talented players in the league.

Sorting out your match tickets

So, the big question is: what does this mean for anyone who has already bought tickets for the original date? Don't panic, it's all quite straightforward. The club has made sure there are simple options for everyone.

  • If you can still make the new date (Tuesday October 28): Great news! Your original tickets are still valid. You don't need to do a thing. Just show up with your ticket at the stadium on the new night and enjoy the match.
  • If you can't make the new date: No problem, you can get a refund. You'll need to send an email to ticketingsupport@bradfordcityafc.com. In the email, make sure to include your customer number and your seat details. You should also state how many tickets you need to cancel and what you want to do with the money. It can be credited to your online ticket account right away, or it can be sent back to the card you paid with. If you choose the second option, the money could take up to seven working days to appear in your bank account.
  • If you want to swap for another game: That's an option too. You can exchange your tickets for a future match. If you want to do this, just specify in your email which game you’d like to see instead and the seat details you’d prefer. The ticketing team will handle the rest.

It's great to see a player like Josh Neufville getting recognised with a Player of the Month award. And while a rescheduled fixture can be a bit of a juggle, at least the process for sorting out tickets is nice and clear for the fans. Here's to more success for the Bantams at the stadium!
