Robin Scott, MD of Welcome to Yorkshire commented:

"Brian Robinson was the first British cyclist to win a stage at the Tour de France, and a trailblazer for the sport of cycling in Yorkshire and the wider UK. He'll be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with Brian's friends and family at this sad time.

"Brian was a proud supporter of cycling in Yorkshire. Everyone I've spoken to tells how tremendously supportive he was of the 2014 Grand Depart and Tour de Yorkshire events."

"He set a great standard for all of us to aim for and leaves behind a terrific legacy of success."
