Tommie’s cottage was a huge disappointment. We only booked for 3 nights so just put up with it, but for the price charged (£520) it was very very poor indeed. From the outside all looks lovely, but inside it is a very different story. The decor is old and dirty, as is much of the furniture; stained and uncomfortable. One of the beds was completely broken and the middle bedroom has the hot water tank in it - all the insulation has worn away from it adding several additional degrees to the room whether you like it or not - terrible in the height of summer. When we arrived there were hairs and stains on the back of the toilet, a thick film of dust over the top of the fridge, stains down the door behind the bins, mould on the windows and cobwebs everywhere. I stay in cottages 2-3 times per year and have had far better holidays in bigger, cleaner, more comfortable cottages in far better locations for less than this. I can only assume the owners are chasing the cash without bothering to update the cottage or even give it a basic clean. A real shame. Yes you have access to a swimming pool (along with 3 other cottages and the owners) but don’t be dazzled by that - it doesn’t even come close to making up for such poor accommodation.

Great cottage to stay in for our visit to North Yorkshire. Very well equipped and clean. Grounds are stunning and so peaceful. Owners more then happy to help with any queries or recommendations.

Beautiful place to stay with plenty to do in the area. We stayed in stans cottage in may 2017, it's one of the best cottages we've had.Very clean,comfortable ,spacious and airy. The owner took time to come and meet us . I highly recommend this cottage for a great family holiday.
