Description

Grass Roots is an independent, family-run cafe, food hall and garden centre located between Harrogate and Ripon.

The Glass House cafe, located in a former greenhouse, serves a fresh, seasonal menu using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible (including fruit and vegetables from Grass Roots' own kitchen garden). Planted with jasmine, passiflora and bougainvillea, the Glass House offers the perfect setting for a casual meal with friends, or a cheeky afternoon cocktail or glass of wine. As well as an all-day breakfast menu that includes lighter options such as avocado toast and eggs benedict, meal options on any day might include locally reared free-range chicken breast, kedgeree, or salmon and prawn fishcakes. The cafe also offers a delicious selection of cakes and pastries to eat in or take away, many of which are produced on-site.

In the food hall, the focus is on organic and gluten-free ingredients, as well as everyday essentials (including wines, beers and spirits!). Local suppliers are actively supported and promoted.

The gifts selection at Grass Roots is exquisitely curated, offering a truly differentiated selection of homewares and textiles, crockery and glassware, as well as seasonal products and decorations.

The garden features a series of raised oak beds offering a range of shrubs, trees and perennials, as well as garden pots, sculpture and ornaments.

Grass Roots is open seven days a week with ample parking space.
