Fantastic proper pub on the high street. Craft beers on offer, friendly service, good ambience and really really good pork scratchings. Didn't partake of the food on this visit but will do on the next one. What's not to love about this place? Fantastic 🤠

Had a nice meal here the other day. My 🍔 & 🍟 were piping hot which was so nice 😋 our order was taken quickly & our food arrived quickly too. The staff were polite & friendly & there was ample seats available. It allows dogs. There were 2 in when we were there & they were well behaved for the most part.

Would give 0 if I could. Avoid!!! Waited an hour and 20 minutes for some chips and a toastie after being told it would be “up to 30 minutes”. The “toastie” was very thin, with no cheese and 3 tiny slices of onion. The only time someone apologised to us was when the food actually came outside. Nothing offered for our wait. Disappointed isn’t the word. It was a toastie and some chips…..

First and foremost the customer service offered here was second to none, congratulations to the bar man for perfection in his level of interaction and banter. Had only originally gone in to see if they had any real ale which they did and a quick half. The smell of food was very appealing and a quick look at the menu and chat to the mar man and we were sold on food. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and will certainly return if I ever find myself back in Northallerton.

AVOID IF YOU NEED TO USE BABY CHANGE In general this place is fine, nice food and nice atmosphere. Problem arose when it came time to change my baby's nappy. I have never been anywhere that doesn't have a changing table that folds down from the wall, some of them are pretty grim so my expectations were not high. I did not, however, expect a visibly marked (looked like big mould type marks) baby change mat on the FLOOR of the disabled toilet! That is not a changing facility! I am not laying my baby on a random toilet floor to change her, especially not on a dirty mat. I was told that it would be ok if I changed her using one of the tables in the booths near the toilet, I chose to use the seat because it seemed more sanitary for everyone. I can't understand the lack of care for the most vulnerable of people who will be going into that pub. Babies deserve some sort of basic facilities. It's also pretty undignified for any disabled people using the toilet, to have to manoeuvre around things on the floor just to go to the loo. They really need to rethink their "changing facilities".
