Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff. Very helpful with all my allergies! Coffee was tasty. Prices are comparable with other cafes - even better if you have a VIP card. Would recommend getting the card as it gives you 20% in the cafe, a one off 15% off your first shop and a birthday treat.👍🏻

A very poor visit. Decided to take my wife for a drink and some cake at Northallerton shop. When served, I was asked if there were any allergies, and I replied Yes, my wife needs gluten-free food. I wanted to order a Vanilla white hot chocolate. I was told 'it may contain gluten'. So I checked to see what alternate she wanted, and requested a cacao and peppermint tea. Again I was told it may contain gluten. I pointed out that it was made with tea and water! The server stated that saying that 'it may contain gluten' was a legal thing (my thought to cover HQ backsides). I asked to see the allergies list for the products sold at the cafe, and sure enough, the page header stated 'contains gluten' with a X in the relevant box. Needless to say I didn't bother with cakes. No point. Won't be going back ***Note to Management.*** Please train your staff such that they know what products contain which allergens, and don't rely on a blanket legal statemen such as 'it may contain gluten'. Your staff should automatically refer to the allergens book and confirm to the customer whether it is safe to consume.

Disappointing and pricy. The prices are probably comparable with Bettys and Barkers but 6 quid for a hot chocolate and 4.50 for a small brownie is steep. On my visit i found the staff to be slow. The young girl making the coffees looked like she rather be anywhere else and took an age to produce each drink. The older lady serving was pleasant enough but whilst serving me started to cough and sneezed, she excused herself to get a drink of water but did not wash her hands before plating my cake. In addition cakes are served on a tray with a little serviette not a plate. Hence only 2 stars and definitely no return visit.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Immaculate store. We came in to buy a gift. Chatted with the manager who was lovely and bubbly but very helpful and informative, we had a good giggle whilst also helping us choose what to buy We had samples and where also tempted into the cafe where we were greeted with a just as delightful member of the team who recommended us which flavour hot choc to go for and even told us if we didn’t like to let them know and they’d make us an alternative seen as we had chosen off theor recommendation. Will definitely visit this little gem again. Great atmosphere and staff

Great ice cream! It is was our Wedding Anniversary and we wanted to treat ourselves to a Velvetiser. Excellent Customer service from Kirsty( Store manager) in handling our questions and the purchase. Recommended
