This is a great charismatic old hotel in Selby town centre. The staff are lovely. Free parking is available. It is so handy for York where the prices are extortionate, and York is very accessible by public transport. Park here and enjoy Selby as well as York having a beverage or two along the way! It is a shame that the current management have chosen to stop serving food. However, no worries, there are lovely cafes nearby to serve breakfast. If you want an evening meal in Srlby, the Capri Italian restaurant just around the corner is superb.
This Hotel has recently changed hand, had rooms booked from last new year, but on arrival were told hotel has no kitchen as new owners have removed food and the restaurant for breakfasts....it was obvious Hotel needs a major makeover as it is looking very shoddy, staff as always are friendly and always work hard to accommodate drinks etc....feel for them at mo, as new owners need to sort the problems out, location was great, as we have been staying here four years on the trot but have noticed a decline in last 12 months. Really needs a full refurbishment on hotel as other pubs/bars have a more nicer environment to eat and drink in
Lovely clean room everything needed for 1 night lovely warm plenty of toiletries good towels. Iron hairdryer tea coffe. Good value for money Free parking excellent
Booked a room with bed and breakfast and an evening meal ages ago for an event in the Abbey. It then changed management. No one contacted me to inform me that we would have no breakfast and no meal. Really poor communication, actually, no communication at all. Room was ok, in need of a really good clean and refurbishment. Definitely not worth the money.
Stopped here for 2 nights when working in the area. Lovely spacious rooms in the family suite only downside was the shower was very poor water pressure and needs addressing and also the tv needs looking at very minimal channels that worked properly without breaking up. However a good central location friendly staff and the breakfast was tasty. Free parking round the back included with hotel.
