Selby Garden Centre

As far as the garden centre there was a lot of items available and a lot of interesting things. We however went mainly for food and drink on the way to York. I only had flapjack and a coke which was nice. My dad had the beef and he wasnt happy as it was very stringy and not good quality. He tried eating it but then full on chocked on a big stringy bit. I had to whack him on his back to help him cough it up. He. Complained and the waitress gave a free cake. I said that wasnt good enough and made my dad request a refund for the beef, to which the staff agreed to give the refund. I will say that my parents went a few weeks ago and my mum had a beef stroganoff which she really enjoyed so this is not a full on bad review. I wasnt with them at the time though so I can only comment on my experience today.

It is a well spaced out, tidy and well organized garden centre. All spaces are well utilized and staff are friendly. Cafe is reasonably priced and food is great quality (you can see into the kitchen at the tills and it's clean and tidy). We've enjoyed our little stop there on the way to visit family. I'm sure you would too.

We were travelling down from York with our dog. Yes the garden centre allows dogs in the restaurant but in a separate area away from the main seating. It was in an isolated area surrounded by products with no nice views unlike the main restaurant and much darker than the main area. This the only reason I gave it 3 stars. We were after a full breakfast meal but couldn't think of sitting in the area directed to.

Had my Dad's 80th birthday lunch here & it was perfect, the room was beautiful & Tracy & the team couldn't do enough, they made sure everything was perfect for him & us all too, the food was absolutely delicious too. Highly recommend & we'll be back just for a normal lunch too
