Yorkshire Curtain Shop & Ossett Upholstery

Avoid. I visited their Castleford shop after having measurements done. But the lady was so unfriendly and unhelpful, also saying she couldn't understand what he'd done with the measurements as if he'd measured wrong, so it put me off. Some months later I rang the Ossett shop and it was all smiles. They had to cancel my measuring appointment at short notice, which I was fine with and was told I was a "star". I then had the measurements done again for more options of blinds and the fitter was helpful, suggesting options for me. I rang the shop to get an idea on price to be told they were very busy with it being Christmas but that I wouldn't be forgotten, this was a lady called Michaela. 4 weeks later I'd heard nothing so I rang in and left a voicemail. This morning they rang and I missed the call, so I rang back and got Michaela who fumbled then passed me to a woman called Julie. So Julie, in a very stern voice, as if I was a naughty schoolgirl, proceeded to tell me they are so concerned they can't give me what I want. She said cellular free hanging blinds without a string are not possible (that's simply not true). So I brought up the second option; a spring loaded blind outside the recess to be told they have material for it but are so worried they wouldn't be able to "give me what I want". I cut to the chase saying that really it's because they don't want me as a customer and she said "yes". How disgustingly rude. I had waited 4 weeks for that, being left dangling. And my only crime was calling both shops; Castleford and Ossett and working with the fitter, who was all onboard with what I wanted. So, be warned, the customer service at this place is fake and as soon as you have ideas about what you want then you'll be treated with disdain, or like a criminal, and rudely axed. It's just not the way to be and I'm glad there is social media so companies like this can be outed.

When deciding what we wanted we were able to take as many sample books home as we liked. There is no need to rush into any decision. We would have been stupid to order some 'discounted ' dish cloth fabric on-line. There is no better than to see and feel the fabric in the place where it is going to go - in the daylight and at night etc... Excellent. We were also encouraged to take curtain pole samples home to see how they would look in situ. The fitting was very good and professionally carried out. The curtains were left loosely tied back for the pleats to form.

Just had our new curtains fitted today and they are perfect, excellent professional service from start to finish, also had a couple of items reupholstered which look amazing. Would definitely recommend and a big shout out to Dave, Katie, Rob and Mark for all their help

First class service and product . The team are wonderful from the initial home visit followed by my visit to the shop through to the final fit . I was truly blown away. Put your trust in this company you won't be disappointed xx

I’ve used this shop for both my bedroom single curtain and Roman blind and also the curtains and Roman blinds in the lounge. All have been beautifully made and fitted - can’t recommend them enough. An enjoyable stress free experience from start to finish.
