We called in on a Saturday evening just after Leeds had played. We were welcomed at the bar and the bar staff explained that the pub was closing for a refurbishment so some drinks were limited. Two pints of lager, a gin and tonic, rum and coke were ordered. Another customer chatted to us ,we found somewhere to sit and instantly hit chatting to another table. There is a great atmosphere. We didn't eat. The refurb is definitely needed but I hope they don't lose the original features. The pub has little rooms /areas one of which is a pool room .
This is one of those rare instances where I wish Google Maps would allow half star ratings. Not fair to give 3 stars but not really wanting to give 4 either. I didn't care too much for this pub. They did not have a good choice of beers other than your typical pub lagers and ciders. This struck me as a locals boozer.
Really good atmosphere after the recent change of management, full of friendly faces and also allowed sensible dogs inside. Would happily visit again the next time I'm passing through Otley, Thanks
On the booze cruise with 7 good mates first port of call the red lion lovely pub really nice staff good selection of beers and good prices
