All the food here is amazing. Tried most things on the menu & would have them all again. Prices are lower than other fish shops, but food & service is much better! Fish & Chip portions are BIG. Fish is perfectly cooked & very tasty. Chips are brilliant. Mars bar is delicious - everyone should try one! Cooked & served by the incredible Anna & Andrew, always warm, welcoming, happy & with a smile. They truly care about their food & customers😍 Customers here are great too. We have had many great social conversations here with total strangers....& Anna & Andrew! Always leave feeling happy & looking forward to coming back the next week......if not sooner!🥰
We visited this fish shop on recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint! The staff are so welcoming and kind, thank you! We got served quickly and did not have to wait long at all. All our food was cooked freshly to order which was amazing and the fish was very generous. Having visited and enjoyed Rick Stein’s fish shop in Cornwall we can honestly say that Gay Lane Fisheries is better. It was all fab even down to the peas. We will be back for sure!
Best fish and chips in Yorkshire better then the famous magpies in whitby and that tuck sum beating super friendly staff you have a 💎 of a place keep up the great work will be back for more
Decided to support one of our other local fish and chip shops today – glad I did. Great service, fresh fish, and proper crispy batter. Sometimes it pays to try somewhere different! Not sure I'd want the battered Mars bar, but each to their own!
The owners are lovely, warm and welcoming. The fish and chips were also delicious as usual. We look forward to returning again in the near future.
