Had a great experience at Slide & Glide with a personalised ski boot fitting from Tom Hillebrandt. Tom was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to understand my needs. The fitting was thorough and gave me the confidence to buy my first pair of ski boots! Highly recommend the full experience - excellent service and real value added.

Had two pairs of race boots fitted by Tom at Glide & Slide in November. I am a level 4 instructor and work around the world teaching and training other instructors. Not only are they a well fit boot, Tom talked me through a different footbed setup to my old one, and also recommended skiing without spoilers for the first time. This is the first time in 25 seasons I have had a boot that feels like an extension of my foot instead of something that I have to fight against to make work. I’ve been to a lot of other well regarded bootfitters and have never had a boot feel this good. Thank you to Tom and the team and I will definitely be back to have all my shells fitted by him from now on.

If you are reading this review and are a recreational holiday skier, you do not need a £160 boot fitting. People have skied perfectly well for over 100 years without paying £160 for a boot fitting. If the boots fit, are comfortable, and meet the specifications you require, then they are good enough. This is simply another way to extract more money from customers. Don’t let them convince you it’s for “safety” either. If ski boots were genuinely unsafe without their so-called expertise, manufacturers would place regulations on who could purchase them in the first place. It’s rubbish. I popped into Slide & Glide the other day to get some advice, try on, and potentially purchase a pair of ski boots I had seen advertised on their website—only to be met by a rather obnoxious man who told us that, amongst other things but mainly for “safety reasons,” they only do boot fittings and that we would have to pay £160 for the privilege. How does that make sense when the boots themselves only cost around £200? As we didn’t see the need for this fitting, we were shoved in a corner of the shop, handed a pair of boots and left completely to our own devices. No help offered whatsoever. We were also reminded multiple times when asked to try different sizes on that this “wasn’t the way they normally did things,” but they would allow us to purchase the boots anyway (thanks for the courtesy 🙄). Furthermore, I would even go as far as seriously questioning the knowledge of the staff anyway. One member of staff didn’t even know the difference between a high-volume (HV) and low-volume (LV) version of the same boot model. Ultimately, practices like this only gatekeep skiing and make it unnecessarily elitist. Way to go, Slide & Glide.

Excellent service yet again at Glide and Slide when purchasing new ski boots. Very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly staff at the boot fitting. We have also bought great ski clothing from there too. 10/10 would recommend.

Decided to add a good pair of all mountain skis to compliment my Stockli Laser SX piste skis. Found Stockli Stormriders here and ordered then with just a few days to go before my trip. Martyn and his colleagues got them set up with bindings and serviced and delivered to me before departure. Excellent service, great quality and good communication all round! A very knowledgeable team!
