Nethergill Farm

Have wild camped here twice now in the meadow next to the stream. Walked from Horton / Ribblehead - about 8 miles. Nice quiet / isolated location but with excellent facilities in the nearby Nature Barn. The hosts are warm and welcoming and have an obvious love for the conservation work they do. Highly recommended. It's now our go-to place when needing a detox / recharge.

We discovered this oasis whilst walking the Dales way in 34 degree heat. We topped up our water and used the honesty box fridge to top up our souls before we got back on our soles and trudged beach into the Oven of the Dales. Really recommend.

It felt like a true home away from home. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, always happy to share the story of the farm and its dedication to sustainable farming and conservation. One of the highlights was the delicious homemade breakfast made with local ingredients—absolutely fantastic! Plus, the farm’s self-guided wildlife walks and educational resources added a lovely touch, making the visit both relaxing and enriching. I would highly recommend Nethergill Farm to anyone looking for a serene retreat with a personal touch and a strong commitment to the environment.

We enjoyed a relaxing night camping at Nethergill on The Dales Way. It is in a beautiful but remote stretch so we were particularly grateful to be able to use the facilities in the nature barn. The flapjacks were a welcome treat! The Thomas family made us feel most welcome and we appreciated all the evidence of conservation that they do.

This was a perfect retreat half way through The Dales Way! A well timed refuge and couldn’t have asked for more. The owners were polite, friendly and very helpful. We wild camped on the site and had access to excellent amenities to relax and escape the elements for a while. Delicious homemade flapjack was great, we saved it for dinner the next day! Would highly recommend!!!
