50kWh charge went well. No so with the chap opposite trying the 150kWh. Apps and cards wouldn't work for him. But why am I surprised. BP Pulse. I've said before, they are hard work in comparison with other networks.

I arrived at midday 20-04-24. Nobody else was charging. Used 150kw charger. It started at 30kw on a cold battery and built after half an hour to 35kw. Enyaq 85 showed 56kw then 77kw max charging rate and I hadn’t preheated the battery and I’d only travelled 10 miles. Anyway, it seems that it was the charger or the grid that was holding back the rate, not the car. I ended the charge at 52 minutes with about 31kwh added. I spoke to another user when he arrived and he was a local. He said that the 50kw chargers often run quicker than the 150kW ones. Overall not a bad experience and I guess that if the grid isn’t delivering the required current then you aren’t going to get the advertised input. Cheap enough at 59p/kwh but far too slow. I used the BP Pulse app with a prepaid credit and that was really easy to use and pretty quick. Update 13-07-24 I arrived at 1:30 pm Sunday, 13 July 2024 and nobody else was charging. My car is an Enyaq 85 with a 77 kWh battery and I was down to about 32% SoC. The maximum charging rate shown in the optimise function in the Enyaq software was 77 kW. Using the BP Pulse app and prepayment the connection to the vehicle was quickly established and I began charging after less than two minutes. The chargers are rated at 150 kW. The charging started at 77 kW but after 15 minutes this had grown to 95 kW. So I would expect that if I could access the optimise function in the Enyaq software; you can't when charging; that would be now showing roughly a maximum of 95 kW. In other words the charger is delivering current to the vehicle at the maximum permitted by the vehicle. This means that unlike my visit made on 20 April 2024, the charger used today is delivering as it should whereas on my previous visit to this particular site I was only charging at something like 25 to 30 kW. I think that this difference is down to the charger chosen, so if you have a slow start then swap to another. I am of course very pleased with this improvement in the charging rate and I would definitely use this charging station again. The attached photo of the charger shows that at the beginning I put in roughly 28 kW in 19 minutes which is an average rate of 88 kW/h. Overall, I added 48kW at a cost of £28.62 in 38 minutes. After I hit 80%+ SoC, the Enyaq software slowed down the charging rate to about 30kW/h; like they all do, and as I had enough juice for my return journey home I called it a day.

Easy access, was only one there at lunchtime in September, but was only getting 37kw from a 175kw charger. Luckily I wasn't needing a big charge. Some others seem to have had similiar experience according to reviews. Charging unit on-screen instructions could have been clearer.

Dirty chargers, cables contaminated with bird droppings , chargers covered in cobwebs and dead insects. Charge speed maxed at 42kw for my ID3. This was on my route again today (4/7/25) so checked the prices before stopping by. 87p per kWh is diabolical! I checked the open to all Tesla chargers south of York, they were 50p for non Tesla owners. It's a no brainer for me... Wonder how BP justify this cost?

The 150kw chargers were empty, while the 50kw ones were full. I am unclear why the 150kw bay says 175kw only. It feels like there is a 2 tier system here, which is not well explained, because of this I will probably avoid BP.
