£1.50 for 4 hours. It’s very cheap. Enough time for a walk by the river and lunch at the pub.

First off, don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking this car park, it is an excellent car park at such a reasonable price, 60p for an hour, 80p for two! My issue is what is wrong with Pateley? I mean you pay £1.10 in Settle for an hour and only 60p in Pateley, something doesn’t add-up – as far as I can see there’s not a lot to differentiate between the two… both in North Yorkshire, both have their fair share of pubs and cafes and tea shoppes, both have the Dales on their respective doorstep… Pateley is winning on the gallery front, whilst Settle is nudging ahead in the charity shop league... Pateley has the worlds oldest sweet shop, and a bandstand, and 2 basketball hoops, Settle has, well, a Booths. As a car park, it does the job admirably, its functional yet not in your face and doesn’t detract from the pretty little town that is Pateley Bridge… Come on NYCC lets have a bit of equality, lower the fees in Settle and bring them into line!
