This was my first solo holiday and this flat was perfect with two locked doors between me and the outside world. My bed was very comfortable and the flat had everything needed for a comfortable stay. My suggestions would be to get a larger tv or rearrange the room as it’s a fair distance from the sofa to the tv across the dining table and update the cupboards in the main bedroom, although the owners may feel it is in keeping with the property. There are lots of activities within easy reach. I visited Fountains Abbey, Haworth and took the bus into Harrogate. One evening I attended a play at the Pateley Playhouse which was just around the corner.
A lovely place to stay! Spacious and cozy. Very clean and well preparat for the fiesta. We loved sitting on tgexterracecwatching the sunset. Quite neighbourhood. Wonderful place to come back from long walks thriugh the moors and the Dales. Top of the top place to stay while visiting Yorkshire.
As an extended family we booked out two of Chews Cottages and it was fantastic. All three generations had positive things to say about the close proximity to town, stunning views, cleanliness and space. The owners were very quick to respond to enquiries. We're already looking at booking again in future.
The ground floor apartment was absolutely perfect for our needs and made for a wonderful base as we explored the surrounding areas. The apartment itself was well equipped, it, in my own opinion lacked a couple of items that would of been nice, a larger cutting board for one as the two supplied were quite small but, all in all we managed perfectly fine. We had a double and two single bed setup. The double was very firm (I liked this personally) and the two singles were extremely soft which my daughter liked but I'm sure may not benefit every visiter with the two extremes as I would not of been able to sleep on the single if required as way to soft (back injury) but that said, we both had extremely good sleeps so its by no means a criticism, just an observation.
Wonderful cottage just steps away from the high street of Castleton. Well apportioned with all you would need for your stay. Loved cooking in and taking in the lovely view of the town and Nidderdale valley from the dining table. A very central location to so many sites and activities.
