Lovely pub/restaurant in a brilliant location! Plenty of outdoor space and a play area for the kids. I recommend the Mexican sharer platter which was amazing! The home made chips were the best I've ever had, generous portion sizes too!

I recently had one of the most memorable pub experiences I can recall, thanks to a little gem that knows exactly how to look after its guests—two-legged and four-legged alike. The highlight was undoubtedly the pie, sourced from Crawshaws the butchers. It was, without exaggeration, the best pie I’ve ever eaten: perfectly baked, hearty, and brimming with meat and flavour. The landlord made the occasion even more special by teasing us “softy southerners” into trying Henderson’s northern sauce, along with a refreshing touch of mint for the mushy peas—a quirky but brilliant combination that worked beautifully. The beer selection was equally impressive, with fabulous real ales kept in excellent condition, each pint poured with care. What really stood out, though, was the warm welcome for our dogs. They were treated to a meat bowl feast fit for kings, making it a true family-friendly stop. A wonderful pub through and through! As you can see from my photo, this is how we rated the food. There's no point in sharing the before picture; it is how you finish your meal that counts.

Great friendly pub, visited first time, early on a Saturday afternoon on a trip back home. Staff werw extremely friendly and chatty. Prices were as expected. Had a pint and some loaded fries which were so tasty. Beautiful beer garden with views over the surrounding countryside with plenty of outside seating and a small play area for the kids. My son loved it and is eager to go back.

They were very accommodating for allergies and their menu is designed to cater to anyone. The staff were lovely and very helpful. They have a separate vegetarian and vegan menu with gluten free options. It was a really nice family friendly spot with a playground in the back, nice views of the fields, and live music. I highly recommend!

We've passed this place hundreds of times and never been in. Glad we stopped off as our main courses were really good quality. I then had whisky marmalade bread and butter pudding which I didn't really need but was interested in what it would be like. When it came I realised that it literally was marmalade on bread. Stupid me!. Anyhow didn't enjoy it but was my fault as didn't really need it. Only real downside was that the carpets were grubby with food. Overall a nice visit with good main courses.
