We popped into Penistone as an alternative to stopping at a random service station on our travels. We came across the Holme Coffee House and we were very pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it was. With its friendly staff, exquisite food and amazing service, we will be visiting again! I had the Turkish eggs and the photo speaks for itself...
8 of us turned up on a very wet Sunday morning. The staff greeted us warmly and helped arrange tables to sit. They we were very attentive and kind. Coffee was one of the best I've had. The food was delicious. Lots of veggie and vegan options. Can't wait to go back
EASILY the best cafe in Penistone. For me, the main reason to visit the Penistone area outside of visiting family, who've lived here since '98. - if I was writing for a UK Michelin guide, Holme would be "worth the detour". Top class grub, drinks, service and ambience. Thanks for everything, you never miss. Your regular:)
We stopped here for some vegan lunch on our cycle trip from Glossop to Sheffield. Great vegan options, friendly service and easy to cycle to from Transpennine Trail. We enjoyed the wild mushrooms on toast and the buddha bowl with Moroccan style falafel. Multiple vegan milk options for coffees and matcha drinks (although unfortunately they charge 40p more for these): oat, soya and almond.
Absolutely brilliant. The environment is really pleasant and trendy, which is lovely but makes you worry it is form over function. No need to worry though as the food is fantastic. In fact the bacon was so good it led to a conversation when I paid about how they cook it. Highly recommended!
