I don't usually get my food from here after several bad experiences years ago (under a different name). After a particularly busy day, and not being in the mood to cook, I relented and called in for a portion of fish bites. Now, I usually buy these from a different environment and from there, they are brilliant! I was expecting the same from here. I was very disappointed. The bites were half the size of my usual ones. The taste was ok. The staff were ok. The portion size was abysmal. Nope, I will not be calling again.
Friendly welcoming staff. Good range of vegetarian options available. We got some chips to accompany our car picnic to warm us up from the cold rain, then came back for the easter special battered creme eggs. Both were fair priced and delicious. Will be coming back to try more.
You get a choice of small or large fish, strangly no medium. However although the small fish is quite small you get a decent amount of chips and it was all very tasty, in fact one of the best tasting bits of fish I have had anywhere. I don't live in the area I was visiting a friend, but if I go there again I will go for large fish. Delicious and excellent value at £7.50.
Looked on line prices/ menu looked resonable. Got to shop prices alot more. Odered a fish butty when opened it looked huge but once batter was off the fish there was hardly any fish. This butty cost me £5.85 n I've ended up eating bread n curry sauce!
Really pleasant staff friendly and welcoming. Bought small cod and chips twice, saussage and chips peas and gravy and it came to around £21. The fish could have swam back home itself as was very greasy. The batter was very thick not much fish when batter removed. Although fish was okay it was not much to write home about, chips were okay but the peas were very tasteless. All in all I would not recommend. If looking for quality fish and chips it's worth a trip further a field.
