Popped in on a Saturday when we were visiting Penistone. There’s not much in there really, but there was a really good little bakery stand which were selling some delicious baked goods.
Super space to hold a public event, market or gig. Plenty of parking, easy to find and access. The weather was bitter on this occasion but we were well protected from the wind and wet. The market stalls on the day were quality, - wool, sox/hats, second hand and tombola, fine cheese, photo gifts and the most delicious fab cake and bread. Looking forward to my next visit. 3 weeks later the weather was grand, loads more stalls and still the same great atmosphere. Definately well worth regular visits, great produce.
In total there were about 18 stalls on my visit, from fruit and veg to bakery, a good value card stall and a sweet stall next to it. There is a stall for your toiletries and brick and brac, not forgetting a clothing stall, so pretty good for a small market town.
Lovely old building which houses Penistone Market. Not a great deal of stalls to look at and what was available was overpriced. A pity as it could be a fantastic feature for the town. That said we did enjoy some nice cakes from the bakery stall and there were hand crafted items available that might make nice presents. Hopefully it will grow and improve.
Brilliant busy market here on Thursday with everything you could possibly need and all under cover in this gorgeous building. The roof with all it's beautiful beams is definitely worth coming to see.
