Emma and Susie have been super helpful with the sale of my first house especially when the buyer, estate agents and other side's solicitor have been, let's say difficult. I have had my full trust in them and they've both had my best interest at heart. I've had really quick responses on everything and Emma has explained everything to me really clearly.
Had the misfortune of thinking because they are local they would be honourable and trustworthy . Dealing with a deceased estate and they cannot provide financial statements and hand over the balance of the money . Excuse after excuse. Avoid at all costs. Worse than payday loan guys !
Poor customer service, solicitor that we were given was on holiday majority of the time so therefore we could never get in contact with him! We always had to chase what was happening and what progress was been made, if any…. Emails would never be responded to probably due to the fact he was always on holiday, they would never call you back when they said they would. They have an APP for updates that they don’t use and I had to ask for the app to be updated! I found out more things from my estate agent than the solicitors. Unfortunately I would not recommend.
I’ve just wasted three and a half months waiting for Pennine Law to sort out my instructions as an executor of my late sister in law’s estate. Today I instructed another solicitor to act. Despite regular requests for updates communication from Pennine is worse than terrible. Until they get their problems sorted out I would strongly suggest that you avoid Pennine Law.
I had the misfortune of selling a property to a buyer using Pennine Law. I have bought and sold properties many times, and this was the worst experience of conveyancing I have had by a great margin. Pennine repeatedly raised the same enquiries over and over again, regardless of us confirming that they were resolved/answered. It had become so absurd that it was obvious to all parties that the conveyancer at Pennine was stalling and/or incapable. At this point, we were told with no notice, that the conveyancer had 'left the business.' Our case was handed over to another conveyancer who didn't respond to any contact for weeks. He eventually passed it on to another lady at Woskow Brown (another firm in their 'group') The lady at Woskow Brown had just returned from maternity leave and was working two days per week. The previous conveyancer's case load was dumped on her and she had no support on the three days per week that she was not working. It eventually transpired that the second conveyancer at Pennine had also left the business. To summarise, one person was doing the work of three people, two days per week! We eventually managed to complete on a small property bought cash, after four months. We wasted hundreds of pounds in additional mortgage interest as the property was empty, and the buyer wasted thousands in fees for alternative accommodation. The law profession should be held to better standards, but especially when it comes to conveyancing, it's the Wild West and those paying the bill seem to have no power.
