The Middleton Arms

A beautiful old pub with bags of character and excellent welcoming staff. Dog friendly, this pub also welcomes well behaved humans too. We liked the fireplace, I was nearly falling asleep it was that cozy. Our food was delicious and the steak pie was as good a pie as I've ever enjoyed... Full of meat... Very filling with the beautiful chips and vegetables. The landlord and the 2 young ladies were brilliant and very friendly too..... All thoroughly enjoyed and we need this pub to move to Northamptonshire.... At once! Tasty food with good drinks selection and a smallish car park to the side of the pub. A very welcoming pub in a lovely setting by a church with very well kept ale & excellent food. The landlord was very friendly & attentive to everyone & the wood burning stove added to the ambience. I had a chicken breast in white wine & bacon sauce with a huge portion of vegetables including sprouts & parsnips. My only complaint is all the veg were on the hard side which was fine by me though wouldn't suit everyone though I would concur on the boiled potatoes. The treacle sponge pudding with custard was outstanding & one of the very best I've ever had. Both food & drink was very good value. If I lived around there I would be a regular visitor & I would work my way through the whole menu!

We drove past the Middleton arms last year and knew we had to try the next time we were visiting Pickering, and we are so glad we did! The pub offers a cosy local pub vibe with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was proper home made pub food which we love. The owner was very attentive and friendly and we would recommend to anybody. It is also dog friendly which is a huge bonus for us 😃

Lovely food massive portions 1 could easily do 2 huge plate of veg big basket of chips and big steak pie, easy done 2 easy. Staff are very nice aswell very accommodating

A lovely pub with a little calming atmosphere! Good friendly service and complements to the chef, we had a delicious chicken Parmo and steak & ale pie with a very nice short crust pastry and a flaky top! Very reasonably prices as well. We will return, thanks to James the owner and Neil the chef
