Whenever on a trip, I try to find a pub, which I assign my go too, that I find comfortable with being a solo traveller. Staying for a week in Pickering I tried a couple of others prior, which didn't take my fancy, then I stumbled upon The Rose Inn. A lovely setting by Pickering Beck. A good welcome from the land lady & staff. They serve pizzas at the weekend, which smelt & looked really good. Also, additionally they have selected local bands & singing artist performing, which I liked. I got talking to a local couple called Paul & Tess for a couple of hours. If, I'm back in Pickering, I'll certainly visit again.
We r locals and we visited the pub last night it was very busy which was great . But I'm sorry but if ur allowing dogs in pls can u ask owners to refrain from letting their dogs sit on the chair nxt to them especially when it was raining hard last nite and the dog wud obviously b wet and then when this couple wud have left someone else wud of sat in that chair not good plus other dog owners had their dogs under the tables on their leads but obviously this couple thought it was ok to do this .
Pleasant pub with large outdoor seating area that overlooks a local stream. Inside of the pub is nice and modern and the woman working behind the bar was very welcoming. Thoroughly enjoy the Coors on tap which will make me return in future. Pub seems to have a mix of locals and tourists stopping off which makes for a nice atmosphere. On our recent visit several locals sat on the table behind seemed quite drunk, however they were still very pleasant and not upsetting anyone. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food as we have only stopped off for drinks with the occasionally bag of crisps. Toilets were very well maintained and clean which is always a positive.
Stumbled on this pub whilst visiting NYMR Had a brilliant night of rock music with Adam Bomb. Great atmosphere. Will certainly go out of way to revisit when next road trip through North Yorkshire
Great local pub, no food but nice atmosphere and plenty of food places recommended close by
