Big A’s At The Vault

This is a place I would definitely recommend including to eat or drink. I thought it was very relaxing as I felt very relaxed. I ordered a large breakfast and it was definitely worth the money. Everything was delicious and high quality. The portion size was perfect. It looked and tasted from a top local farm or butchers, it was that good. The customer service is exceptional. I felt very welcomed and looked after. They are all so caring, kind and friendly. There’s a good choice of food and drink on the menu, lots of different things to choose from. It’s definitely one of my favourite cafes anywhere.

Had a steak pie, which was good quality, however the vegetables were boiled to within an inch of their lives, yet still managed to be stone cold. The gravy was way too thick. Bizarrely the hot meal was served with a salad, with the aforementioned gravy all over it! That's a first, words fail me.

We visited Big A Cafe this afternoon with our children and, despite its appealing exterior and a menu that seemed family-friendly, our experience was disappointing. The interior had an unpleasant dog-like smell, and we overheard a staff member swearing, which was unprofessional. The coffees were unpalatable—my husband's flat white was served as a milky, spilled mess, and my Americano was undrinkable, especially at the £3-£3.50 price point. The food was mediocre and overpriced; my Greek salad came with fruit, and my husband's cheese ploughman’s had eggs on cheap bread. Additionally, the children's nuggets and chips were acceptable although we ordered beans with both and they only had enough for one serving. The staff's response was dismissive when I fed back. Overall, the standards were lacking, and we won’t be returning.

Really, really slow service. We ordered three meals and three drinks which took over half an hour to come. The place was half full, so it's not as if that was an issue. Staff were very polite, and the food itself was fine - just really slow to come.

Popped in for a quick bite - very slow service despite being nearly empty. Music, laugher and bellowing could be heard from the kitchen - the music from the kitchen was so loud it drown out the music in the cafe. People seemingly milling in and out from street to kitchen at random. Smoke seemed to be entering the cafe area from the kitchen. Staff seemed friendly but unprofessional - 2 customers came in and walked out as counter staff were in the kitchen - felt like we'd walked into a sitcom!
