Pickering Medical Practice

To be honest I am not a regular user of the NHS. However I thought I had a hernia a week or so ago. Looking on the NHS website convinced me that I needed to see someone - sooner rather than later. (seriously, if you google a symptom you'll convince yourself that you only have hours to live!) I called the practice at 8.30am - 12th in the queue but I pressed for a call back which duly happened shortly afterwards. It was recommended I speak to a doctor - and one called me within the hour and I had an appointment made for an hour after that. I saw Dr Agile who was great - I didn't have a hernia but a groin strain - thank goodness! All I see on the news and online is issues with getting a doctors appointment but I can report that I saw a doctor with 2 hours of calling and everything got sorted. On holiday in Pickering and my mum needed to speak to someone urgently- the Practice were so helpful, and the care she got was excellent. Really appreciate it!

I’ve had some problems recently as a result of a dog bite so I’ve been visiting and phoning, and everybody I’ve seen and spoken to on the phone has been brilliant. Thank you.

Just dont get me started on the attitude of some doctors, who by the way I have no clue who they are!!! I have a chronic pain condition that needs follow ups ect and I basically got told it's all in my brain! I haven't seen my own doctor for years and don't have a clue if he is actually my doctor anymore?? So like others said on here I have to go through it all with a new doctor every time and they really don't make you feel like they care and just want you out of the door! I haven't been able to get a face to face appointment only phone call.. I need face to face! What's the problem? I do feel however that most of the staff work hard and do care but the revolving doors of doctors is ridiculous!
