Mother Shiptons Inn and the new landlords and staff this evening for dinner with the family. 2 fabulous Parmo’s, an incredibly tasty rack of ribs and a great fish and chips. The Parmo was huge, delicious crispy breaded coating and a tasty béchamel sauce, maybe lacking a bit more sauce. Absolutely delicious chips and a tiny salad (if you’re ordering Parmo you probably are not a salad person) Ribs - moist, tender, flavourful and a lovely spicy warm sauce, partnered with a fabulous mash and some veg. Fish and chips - perfect batter, delicious fish and the BEST huge chips I’ve ever had; like railway sleepers! Pudding was also had, a delicious choc cheesecake, a fabulous fruit crumble and a lovely brownie. Black vanilla ice cream was amazing and we struggled to get out of our chairs and to the car afterwards. Just over £100 for dinner and desert for 4 was excellent value, and a warm, cosy, friendly and just perfect pub dinner. Would recommend if you are in Knaresborough anytime soon. A solid 10/10

First time visiting since new management . Very impressed with the quality of the food. Everything home made. Steak pie was absolutely stuffed full of delicious beef and not too much pastry. Very good choice of gluten free food and husband thrilled to have gluten free sticky toffee pudding. Cosy traditional olde wolde pub. Thank you to the friendly team we will be back soon.

Went yesterday evening for dinner for the first time since new management took over and had a fantastic meal. Staff were lovely and so helpful, food was delicious. Highly recommend.

Been to Mother Shiptons a few times since it re-opened and it is fantastic! Warm and welcoming atmosphere, all the staff are great, including the new landlord, and the place is so quirky! Sitting by the fire enjoying a drink on the colder days is so cosy, but on warmer days and especially evenings grabbing a bench outside by the river is a real treat, and so peaceful! And then there is the food! We had the Veggie lasagne and the Burger and both were excellent, all freshly made and tasted superb (plus the burger was gluten free which was a bonus!) We have been to restaurants that charge twice the price and it hasn’t been anywhere near as good! The fudge brownie was a stand out too, it was so good I didn’t even have chance to take a picture as I’d devoured it! A real gem in Knaresboroughs crown!

Hi i went here for a random roast Sunday dinner and it didn't disappoint whatsoever it was pretty much fantastic roast pork definitely a 9.5 / 10 safe to say il be back and recommend here an absolute credit to the landlord allen and his team for the overall high standards its noticed 💯👌 as ive mild ocd !! Keep up the great work and thank you also just a very nice atmosphere vibe and great hospitality service a real fire 🔥see you soon . 👊🙏
