Brompton Lodge

Great place. Very roomy and we'll laid out with good amenities (washing machine, dishwasher, 2 fridges & freezers) . Nice pool. Very quiet with plenty of private parking.

Nine family members enjoyed a week here. The pool was warm and clean. 4ft 6” depth with stairs leading in so not suitable for nervous children. Our two small girls loved it, using swimming aids. Pool length enough for adults to have a reasonable workout. House is large and well equipped. Ample towels provided and the bed linen clean and fresh. Very efficient washing machine and large tumble dryer. House interior is dated but well kept and comfortable. Silly request, but a rotary washing line in the lovely garden would be useful. Situated very convenient to popular destinations. Very quiet. We went to Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, Robin Hood Bay, York. The moors are beautiful. We live a very long way from the cottage so sadly probably won’t revisit but highly recommend.

Good location, good size and good pool. However the property needs a complete refurbishment. Particularly the kitchen units and the showers. You're able to take dogs but the garden isn't secure. We found that some of the mattresses also need replacing. We visited seven years ago and we found simular problems. It is a great pity that such a property with such potential isn't better maintained. Despite those problems we enjoyed our break there..

Just returned from Brompton Lodge with my family. 6 adults, 3 children, 1 baby and the dogs. What an amazing time we had, I really can't fault it. It had everything you could need and more. Kids were never out the pool. Highly recommend

Nice sized rooms, country style decor, good sized pool, nice lawn and patio and a separate paddock area for exercising dogs. A great welcome hamper, plenty of seating, towels, cutlery etc (even if there are 9 of you) and really well thought out in terms of what you need from a holiday let, plus a great location. Wi-fi and sky movies was a great bonus! The only reason it's not a five star was that there was only one key, so we couldn't easily split into groups and do our own thing, and the staircase is non standard so the travel baby gates didn't fit, which was a bit of an issue. But if you're not coming with toddlers, can't recommend highly enough!
