I was visiting Redcar and thought I’d take my kids here, as the food used to be lovely. Sadly, the place has gone downhill badly. Outside was littered with cigarette butts and a filthy bucket overflowing with them. The windows were grimy and the entrance smelled strongly of urine. Inside a handful of people were sat at dirty tables. The floors were unclean, the bar looked grimy, and the whole place felt dark, damp, and neglected. There was no way I was comfortable letting my children go inside. Whoever the owner is, please sort it out, you've got a little gem there and your letting the community down.
Came in for a pint, place stunk of damp. Beers were alright but won't be back.
Definitely a lovely pub to go to one of my main locals in town the atmosphere is always unreal the bar staff are so pleasant and so friendly always a good laugh never disappoints been going there for so many years Saturday nights are always the best very friendly especially the people
Visited twice during the daytime in the last week. Beer is OK and a reasonable price. The bar area is clean and the staff are friendly. The gents toilets upstairs absolutely stinks, it takes your breath away as soon as you open the door. The urinals clearly do not flush as often as they should and the extract fans don't seem to work. Chewing gum stuck to the walls. Was the same on both visits so can't be put as a one off.
2 for 1 alcopops - not too bad, staff seemed pleasant enough. The night we visited there was a good band on, so stayed a while longer. The only thing which has deemed this place a 2 star is the toilets - Don't use them- There was a horrible fishy smell in the ladies toilets upon entry (as if the sanitary bins hadnt been emptied for ages) made us gag, so left straight away. I did put it down to it being towards the end of the night, but looking at a few other reviews on here, it seems as though this has been an ongoing thing which hasn't been resolved
