I had a wonderful stay at Red Barns. I booked on short notice, which wasn’t an issue, and the hosts were very flexible with check-in — something I truly appreciated. Upon arrival, the hosts warmly welcomed me, gave me a tour of the property, shared its fascinating history, and showed me both the common areas and my room. From the very start, I felt completely at home. The room itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable — I had the best night’s sleep! It was hard to leave, but I’m already looking forward to staying again. Highly recommended!

I'll start by saying that my partner and I travel a lot, and in recent years, we’ve done a trip across the whole of the UK. With full responsibility and a clear conscience, I can honestly say that this was the BEST place I’ve ever stayed. I’ve rated hotels 10/10 before, but after this visit, the bar has been raised much higher. The place is stunning, very well-kept, clean, and you can tell the owners put a lot of heart into their work. I’d also like to add that the owners are incredibly polite, and nice, and as a guest, I felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. The breakfasts are delicious and tailored to individual preferences. The room is spacious, so it’s not like other places where you’re constantly tripping over your own feet. The bathroom is wonderful, and the breathtaking view from the window is simply stunning. I’m truly impressed and recommend it to everyone! The bed was very comfortable, the bedding and towels were very clean and fresh-smelling, and all the necessary amenities were provided. I only regret that we stayed for such a short time :) The fact that they have such excellent reviews doesn’t surprise me at all! I’d also like to add that I really (that is my point of view) appreciate how the owner asked if I would like a change of towels instead of just entering the room, as has happened to me in other guesthouses. Even if I wanted to be very critical and find something to write about here, I simply can't. This place is absolutely perfect in every way!

Excellent place. The whole building is beautiful. The decor superb. Red Barns is steeped in history. Our room was perfect. The breakfast was great and the owners are just lovely and gave us so much local knowledge. A place we would definitely come back to, no question. Over the years we've stayed in a lot of b and b's. This is the best. Mark and Jo

My Husband and I have just had a great stay here for 3 days. The building has been been beautifully renovated and has heaps of history. The facilities are great and there is a large garden and seating to bask in the sunshine. Really tasty breakfasts each morning, free parking and some lovely little touches in the room. Jackie and John are fabulous hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and we’re coming back in November. Thank you.

Redcar is the perfect location for exploring North Yorkshire between Durham and York. Our luck with Red Barns Bed & Breakfast was threefold. 1) John and Jackie are the perfect hosts. Friendly, very helpful and both have a British sense of humor. 2. the B&B itself is located in a lovingly restored building steeped in history. Our room was perfect. Tastefully furnished and with a wonderful view of the well-kept garden. We found a meticulously clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. 3. the breakfast more than met our expectations. It was always freshly prepared and simply delicious. Whenever we come back to the area, Red Barns B&B will be our first port of call.
