I stumbled upon this place by accident but anywhere that can combine tapas with well-kept real ale gets my vote. The restaurant is small but can still put out great food at a pace. The service is friendly and I wasn't left waiting long for my tapas. It was tasty and piping hot and not just the usual 'Albondigas and Chorizo ' although these are available. The beer was good too. There's also a cheeky little snug for couples named 'the naughty corner'.

We had noticed online that this place was dog friendly, however when we arrived there was nothing displaying this at the entrance. I went in (leaving my dog outside with my niece) and asked if dogs were allowed and I was told yes but not at night which was fine by me as it was lunch time. We found a table in the corner which was aptly called ‘naughty corner’. We were greeted by a friendly young waitress who took our order. I asked her if I could seat my dog on the chair next to me (my dog is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Chihuahua so she is tiny). She said that this would be okay as long as I had something to cover the seat with. I assured her I would cover the seat with my jumper and she seemed happy with this. My dog settled straight away and slept quietly until the food came (please see pictures below). Our food was served by an older lady who immediately said ‘we do not allow dogs on seats’ my reply was ‘I did ask and was told this was okay as long as I covered the seat’ she interrupted with the same abrupt statement which was loud and in an aggressive tone. We took my dog off the seat and onto the floor. I was embarrassed and felt like I had been told off. It was a small restaurant with quite a few tables in so everyone could hear me being told off. This lunch was meant to be a 21st birthday celebration for my niece who has recently lost her Mother so this day was meant to be really special and I feel like it was ruined as we felt anxious and just wanted to leave. We will not be returning. It is a shame as we had a really positive experience earlier in the day at the coffee shop ‘Mocha’ where they are truly dog friendly (please see picture attached). I would like to add the waitress who greeted us and took our order was very welcoming and apologetic. We did not receive any form of apology from the older lady who embarrassed us. This is the first time I have posted a review but in this instance I felt the need to comment warning my fellow dog owners. I am a respectful owner which reflects in my asking permission twice before. I certainly will not return and don’t think this restaurant should consider themselves dog friendly.

Had a fantastic meal at 29. Setting is cozy and quaint with roughly 20-25 covers so book ahead! We did this through Facebook and it was very efficient. Food was delicious and service was excellent and attentive. Can see why it is scoring so highly with reviews. We had a meal for 2 with a bottle of wine and multiple dishes and it came to less than £80 so great value for money also. Would recommend if you are in Richmond.
