We came on Sunday morning for breakfast. A really lovely cafe, delicious food, pleasant surroundings and great service from a friendly team. We had a couple of the small breakfasts which were sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes and toast (forgot to take a photo) Also a great range of cakes, cookies, pies and pasties. We then came back a few days later for another breakfast, a superb bacon sandwich which I did take a picture of! 🙂
Wonderfully charming cafe very cosy and quaint with plenty of seating on two levels The full English breakfast was cooked to perfection and though the cafe was just about full the service was excellent with all the waiting staff full of smiles The ice cream sundaes looked huge 😍 but unfortunately I couldn't justify having one for breakfast there wete also a wide variety of tempting cakes and cookies on display
Super cozy, family-run cafe that offers pretty spectacular breakfast options. I know it’s not exactly right, but the full English in a Yorkshire pudding was amazing. Lovely service and great prices.
Absolutely delightful cafe. Home made bread is amazing. The staff are lovely and food is spot on. You can also buy jams and chutneys and an array of cookies and other goodies . Tea is served from a proper pot and the coffee hits the spot.
Food is below average, as is the service. Placed our order. Waitress forgot us and the drinks were set down after the food. Cutlery is also given after the food is set down. I had jacket potato with chilli, served in a deep bowl which was odd….but it was alright and I quite enjoyed it. Partner had “Giant Yorkshire with slow cooked beef”….it wasn’t a giant Yorkshire, it was two small ones. And he complained immediately that it tasted bad and was adamant the meat is canned and said the mash tasted watery and flavourless. He was disappointed. I asked the waitress if he could swap it for something else, he had tried to eat it but hated it, she stood looking blankly….to which I realised ah this is not the kind of place that will do that, she looked like she feared asking the kitchen to swap so I just said to take it away from the table which she did. I did expect someone to attend and ask us about the food but no one did. As we left my partner was asked at the till how the food was to which he gave honest feedback, this was not well received. The woman, who I think is the “cook”…..and I use that word loosely, is argumentative and doesn’t handle complaints well. The other reviews reflect this where they think it is appropriate to argue with feedback. I do understand you may disagree and want to defend your “cooking” but at the end of the day, if you are going to ask for feedback then you have to take the rough with the smooth. If the customer doesn’t like the food then they don’t like the food. It really is as simple as that. Also we overheard another table saying their food was bad too 😂 We did however enjoy seeing the woman come outside for a vape to calm down after getting upset with being told her food was vile 😂
