Black Lion Hotel

The staff are absolutely lovely here. My family had booked a function room for a surprise birthday party for me. ( They were in on it and let nothing slip when I arrived) The buffet they provided was absolutely delicious. At the end of the evening we started to help putting the room back but they were having non of it and told us not to worry they'll sort it. And wished me a happy birthday. Just perfect here for atmosphere. And if the buffet was anything to go by then I'll be back again for a meal. Well done the Black lion.

We visited the Black lion a few times, whilst staying in Richmond. Lovely warm welcome every time we visited. Excellent service from Demi (bar), amazing food from Charlotte the chef!! 2 great girls who are an asset to the pub! Will definitely visit again.

Lovely pub. Stayed for one night, rooms was probably a little too warm, had to move the bed to turn the radiator off as it was like walking into a sauna. Bath was amazing, very hot water - just how I like it. Breakfast was wonderful, the chef was polite and welcoming. One small issue was the fire alarm lit the whole bedroom up green when it was dark every 30 seconds or so. I know safety is paramount but it can make sleeping a little difficult having a flashing light when there are other alternatives to purchase. Car park was unfortunately full so had to drive round looking for a space for a while. Overall a great stay. Thankyou.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Outstanding Service from Demi! I was hosting a meeting with the Richmond Operatic Society at the Black Lion and we were looked after by Demi, who was absolutely fantastic. Her personality was bright, warm, and engaging from the moment we arrived. She was charismatic, attentive, and an absolute joy to be around. Her customer service was exceptional throughout, and she even made a perfect cup of coffee! Demi is a real credit to the Black Lion Hotel staff like her elevate the whole experience. Honestly, she deserves a raise! We will definitely carry on to use the Hotel as our go to meeting place 😁 all credit to this fantastic woman's customer service. Many thanks Brodey

Just off the Market Square, prime location and a wonderful find. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile and served shortly after. I asked if a table was available and I was in luck. The lady at the bar introduced herself, Demi, and was very attentive whilst I sat at the bar, swiftly delivering my choice of drinks and latterly taking my order for food. I was introduced to Ellie who offered the options of bar or restaurant seating, I opted for bar and awaited my food. Conversing with some local gents whilst both Ellie & Demi were very busy, with most tables eating, but still they engaged with us all and ensured I had everything I needed as they were serving other guests too. Excellent service. My food arrived and was exactly how I ordered, my steak was perfect and the egg runny too. Guinness was cold and very well poured. Overall, excellent. From start to end I was welcomed and treated as a local, which is exactly what I like. Thank you team Black Lion. I’m sure I will return again.
