Richmond Falls is such a lovely place to visit and so easy to reach from the town centre. The waterfall sits on the River Swale and changes completely depending on how much water is flowing. It’s a great place to stop and take in the view, especially after rain when the river is powerful. We’ve been a few times and always enjoy the mix of nature and history around the area, with Richmond Castle just a short walk away.
Saturday 13th September about 11am. Well worth a visit. Dramatic. Popular. Parking nearby. A nice walk along the river. Why does Google reviews ask if you recommend buying a ticket?! 🤣🤣
What a gorgeous place to visit. It was so tranquil and very picturesque. A glorious sunny day helped a lot. A quaint town with beautiful architecture. The falls were amazing and being enjoyed by a good crowd of all ages. Lots of quieter spots along the river bank if you want to avoid the crowds.
Various parking areas (cash or app) a walk away if the next to it one is full - though down\up a hill\slope! Beautiful to watch even though the river wasn't full. Today was a sunny day for kids, dogs and folk to play in on the shallower areas. 20p toilets and a play area nearby. Says a red flag goes up when unsafe, bins nearby for picnic rubbish - area looked tidy 👍
Beautiful place to visit! Lovely walk round the town too Disabled access to a viewing point just next to the car park Public toilets available at site too, 20p to use them
