Not too busy, pleasant staff who keep the place spotless. I will be going again. Disabled access during the over 50s hour very good with a crane aid to enter and leave the pool.
Lovely pool in beautiful surroundings. Our teenage children went for a swim while we made use of the free mobility scooter for my dad to have an amble down to Easby Abbey. Cafe is dog friendly and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Went to the family swim session on a Sunday. It was pretty quiet. There were floats and balls to play with in learner and main pool. Water was clean and not too cold. Changing rooms were also clean and didn't have any nasty smells. The showers work now, but you need to press a button every ten seconds, which is slightly annoying mid hair wash. Shame they didn't upgrade the grout around the pool edge and on the steps when they re surfaced the whole pool area paths or replace the awful plumbing around the sinks in the ladies showers. But we will like coming and try and support this local pool.
Excellent experience every time. Friendly staff, lovely pool and clean facilities. I always feel better and sleep better after swimming. If I have any achey joints before swimming, the gentle support of exercising in water sorts them out!
I took my 2 year old little boy to what I was expecting to be a nicely refreshed swimming pool. I honestly could not tell you what they’ve spent all that time and money refurbishing but it definitely wasn’t the pool or changing rooms. The changing rooms were filthy, outdated and the air temperature was very cold, that was before we’d got into the arctic pool. The baby pool was so cold that we quickly had to get out. The pool itself was dirty and had grit all along the bottom. As it’s so shallow 0.8m at the deepest, the time I was in there was spent shuffling around on all the grit trying to keep moving to keep my little boy warm. When getting out of the cold pool you’re then hit by the even colder air, don’t make the mistake i did and think you can warm up in the shower… or the lukewarm trickle would be a more adept description. I did let the receptionist know how cold the pool and changing areas were when we left thinking that they might be able to turn the heating up at least for the next poor souls but I was met with a sour faced non interested staff member who simply said ‘oh’ and stared at me like I was crazy for expecting it to be slightly warm.… All in all a really dirty unpleasant experience. Catterick is a million times better.
