This is a beautiful chapel which still has regular services and is open most days. It was built in the 12th century as the chapel of a hospital. There are still almshouses nearby run by a charitable trust. Very interesting inside with ancient wooden screen and doors. Possible Roman mosaic and very old altar table. Parking mainly on street.

Well worth the walk from the centre of York. A true gem full of history. Open daily and so joyful to spend time inside quietly reflecting on those who have gone before. Do visit.

I've walked past this place loads and not really noticed it, so thought we'd give them a visit. A couple of ladies were preparing for their Harvest Festival and one of them was kind enough to tell us about the church's history. I'm not religious, but found this place amazing, they even let us have a spin at ringing the church bell...

Stunningly beautiful.. Serene calm and balm for the soul. A healing sanctuary of simplicity and good energy despite it's turbulent history.. A gem indeed

Visited here (Pre-pandemic). For anyone that feels energy? Well there’s a most wonderful energy in this church (the Magdalene energy). Wonderful to just sit in the peace/silence. Lady who looked after the keys was very accommodating. Must visit again
