Great leisure centre. The gym is good - not massive but it’s a community leisure centre so can’t be expected to be perfect. Swimming, classes, sauna, gym - all for about £38 per month? Brilliant!!

Decent gym facilities but the access to the sauna and steam room is downright stupid. You change in the changing rooms the. come back out to the reception area to use the sauna and steam room. Not sure of the reasoning behind this or who signed this off.

My lad comes for swimming lessons every Friday he’s really progressing, we come swimming most Sundays. The pool iand the changing rooms are clean . The temperature when you first get in can take your breath away sometimes but once you’re moving it’s perfect. The staff a smiley and happy. They have a good coffee machine. I’m looking at joining the gym next.

Numerous negative issues with membership. Firstly, they cancel general swimming at the drop of a hat to accommodate even more children's swimming in the form of a gala/competition. Then they close the sauna and steam room area and use it as a changing room!! Nowhere to obtain cold drinking water in any areas of the changing rooms/swimming/sauna area whatsoever. You have to go out into the reception area for water. General changing room/lockers/showers are out of bounds during school swimming sessions!! Next the boiler breaks down resulting in cold swimming pool and even colder showers! NYCC keep taking FULL subscription money nonetheless. The older woman on reception has a disgraceful attitude to customer service and will actively continue playing on her mobile phone whilst you are trying to talk to her. Totally disinterested. NYCC will close the whole place on a whim without any notice as in the next TWO consecutive Sunday's to simply remove portacabins from the CAR PARK!!! They'll NEVER close the place midweek which affects kids school swimming lessons, heaven forbid. Only 3 available cubicles to shower as 1 has no door, and hasn't had for OVER 8 MONTHS!!

After years of delay the grand opening for the new weight room area was disappointing. This part of the facility feels like an afterthought. They installed big classroom areas, massive locker rooms and a very nice pool area, then they put in a second rate cardio and weight area that appears to be smaller than the locker room. I'm sure everyone will be happy that there is always a free classroom available for basket weaving and karmic chanting, People can also use the spare classrooms to nap while they wait 45 minutes for a cardio machine.
