When growing up Double Luck was my fave Chinese here but until today I genuinely forgot how good it was. Since moving back from overseas I’ve been going to another Chinese in Ripon I live closer to. Sadly it wasn’t open tonight so I ordered from here for the first time in many years. Absolutely delicious. No complaints about anything. I ordered: Salt and pepper chips Salt and pepper calamari Pot of curry sauce Special foo young No 5 double luck special 1000% recommend. And I’ve also never had a bad dish from here but tonight it seems tastier than ever!!
First time visiting here, ordered Singapore chow mein as it’s my goto dish each time at Chinese takeaways could do with a little extra kick of spice. Flavours are there but lacking a little on the spice factor. Spring rolls juicy and fat and tasty curry sauce is decent also. I did get a menu but think I’ve left in on the counter. Will defo come again if I’m in the area
Never had a chow main served in 2 dishes before. Noodles in one and meat and veg in another pot, meat was few and far between and asked for mixed meat and only got chicken with a tiny bit of beef. No card payments Hard for me to score more than 2 star it's only getting that as the service was good
Beef curry so bland no taste whatever shame used to be the best
Very disappointed. When I saw the duck with prawn meat on the menu I thought my luck was in. There used to be a Chinese on North Street which did this dish and it was my most favourite ever. From double luck, it was abysmal. Looked like sick and the container was half filled with iceberg lettuce. For £8.00 odd I expected alot better. Onion rings were mostly batter rings. One of the worst I've had. First time buying from here and definitely the last.
