I’ve been using Powells for many years now — as did my late father, who once told me that they quoted him nearly 50–60% less than what an Audi dealership did for the exact same job. That moment cemented our loyalty to this garage, and we’ve never looked back. Just this week, I had a tyre blow out. In the middle of all that chaos, Powells once again epitomised the quality of service they’ve built their reputation on. It reminded me why we’ve stuck with them for so long: not just because they’re good at what they do — but because they care. They’re local, they’re genuine, and they take pride in their work. They’re not there to upsell or sugar-coat things. Once you understand the condition your car is actually in, you’ll see that all they want is to help you make the most of it — and keep you safe on the road. They’re open to questions, too. I’ve personally spoken at length with one of the very Powells about a specific technical issue, and he took the time to walk me through it, answer my questions, and really engage with my concerns. That kind of patience is rare. And yes — the fact that they’re a Bosch-approved service centre is no coincidence. That badge says a lot about the standards they meet. Special mention to Julie, who’s always a fantastic receptionist — clear, friendly, and on the ball. She keeps you well informed of any issues, communicates seamlessly with the garage team, and makes sure you receive the best customer service Powers has to offer. FYI, this is not a paid review nor do I know the people who work there intimately - I'm simplicy a customer that customer who's adovating for thier great work.

Amazingly helpful garage. They fitted us in when we were visiting Ripon and needed work done at short notice. Very polite and considerate in explaining what needed doing and lending us a car while the work was done. We wished we lived close enough to use them all the time.

I have been taking my cars to Powells of Ripon for well over a decade now and they always provide a brilliant service, from the initial enquiries and booking in procedures, right through to handover of the car following work. Completely trustworthy (unlike most garages out there) and I would never risk taking my car anywhere else for worry of people cutting corners or trying to rip me off. They have vast knowledge of work on all manufacturers and models old and new, so there are never any worries that they won't be able to diagnose or fix an issue.

I've been taking my car to Powell's of Ripon for several years for services and MOTs to ensure it remains in perfect running condition. The overall customer service is great and they've kept my car in great condition. I've yet to have any issues with it despite driving over 150,000 miles and I believe that it's because of the work that they have done on it to date. I recommend Powell's to anyone who wants to ensure they receive a top customer experience with the mechanical skillset to match.
