Gillies Jones Glass

About

Description

Set amongst idyllic surroundings in North Yorkshire’s Rosedale Abbey, the Gillies Jones gallery is a unique experience for visitors to the North York Moors, offering a year-round exhibition of contemporary hand blown glass.

Celebrating 20 successful years in business, partners Stephen Gillies and Kate Jones maintain a consummate approach to their craft – producing internationally acclaimed works that are featured in museum collections across the globe, including the V&A.

Rosedale has been associated with glass blowing since the 16th century, and methods used by modern day experts Gillies Jones continue to mirror those that have been used for hundreds of years. Each piece is created by hand, a painstakingly slow process resulting in a diverse collection of timeless designs that are both unique and exquisite.

Reflecting the minimalistic elegance of Scandinavian glassware, their pieces have become highly sought-after and collectable.
“I think they are absolutely superb – I’d like to collect the whole lot.” Christopher Payne, BBC Antiques Roadshow expert
