Attending this building is a doodle for me as a wheelchair user. The garden room is lovely; once they get a ramp to the outside, it will be even better. The disabled toilet was a delight to use. Roomy, even with a chair in there for those needing rest. Paper towels, open bin (not foot operated). Plenty of hand holds—everything you could need to hand. See photos. If you are looking for an event venue, then this could be the answer to a central location in the town.
An unusual building for Rotherham where almost every building is built of the yellow or red local sandstone. The Town Hall is white limestone I presume and very striking it is. Outside the building is a Walker Cannon, these cannons were a large part of Rotherham's largely forgotten industrial history. A question, why does it have a West Riding coat of arms?
Now the Town Hall but used to house the town's magistrates court. Floodlit in pink?
The show piece of Rotherhan Metropolitan Borough Council along with the museum it houses the history of Rotherham. There are meeting rooms available with friendly helpful staff who go out of their way to help.
A place, where depending on your political alliance? Can work for you or against. Especially if it isn't Labour.
