A no-nonsense down-to-earth pub with an excellent range of real ales and ciders. Nine hand pumps on and lots of further choice with bottles. Barman very knowledgeable, offering me a few tasters and suggestions based on my preferences. If you only visit one pub in Rotherham (as I am) then make this your choice.
Superb real ale. Blackpool FC fsn visiting the area for a few pre and post match eal ale drinks. Made to feel most welcome. Cracking quality real ale. Well worth visiting.
This was a fantastic pub to visit, with a laidback tavern vibe! The wooden design, vintage frames and name echoing the New York stadium contribute to this, staff were really approachable too. A good selection of ciders is available and I had a tasty Strawberry Cider, sitting comfortably and the counter is neatly presented!
Amazing Real Ale pub After coming to Rotherham for the first time in years I was disappointed and saddened by the pubs. No proper beer. Then I found this Gem!! Id be very happy for it to be my local. All the real ale was in great condition (the ones I tried at least). Thank you
You can see why this has been Rotherham’s Pub of the Year for 7 years running - a classic pub with a great range of Chantery ales, real coal fires, top tunes piped out which does not stifle good conversation.
