What a magical place! We called in here by chance on a Tuesday morning and were absolutely bowled over by the atmosphere. We stopped for breakfast and were thoroughly impressed both by the quality of the food and by the friendliness of the staff. This café in a converted church must be one of the best kept secrets in Rotherham. I would thoroughly recommend.
I can't speak highly enough of Grimm & Co - the place and the team. We had my daughter's baby shower in one of the upstairs rooms and it could not be faulted. The food was lovely and the plentiful, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the room was laid out exactly as we requested. Would highly recommend booking here for your next function.
What a marvellous magical world…complete with its very own Feastery. The staff are all eager & rightly proud of this amazing charity, set up to give creative writing experiences & opportunities to children 0-18yrs of age. From the Apothecary shop to the church turned podium, complete with hanging symbolic banners, this Aladdin’s cave gives a huge nod to Harry Potters, Hogwarts Great Hall…obviously minus Wands at the ready! I arrived just before closing time, so unfortunately many of the delicious cakes were already sold out, but I did devour a scrumptious scone complete with jam & cream. My visit was limited this time, but this is a fantastic children’s fantasy world for a very worthy cause, and is fabulously thought out & imaginatively presented! My only criticism is the cafe maybe slightly over priced, particularly for families with children on a small budget to eat here…but the delightful shop/experience will definitely fill most with awe & wonder. On a massive positive note, the creative workshops for children are all free of charge…so this makes the costlier cakes easier to digest…as all profits feed an absolutely fabulous cause! Last point is the ample space, enabling easy access for Magical Beings with wheelchairs & tiny tots push chairs, to swivel happily around from the shopping space to a huge toiletery/changing area!
Amazing hidden gem in Rotherham. Atmosphere is magic. Staff are enthusiastic and very efficient in the cafe and shop. A must visit for children and adults alike.
Lovely atmosphere, quiet, ambient lighting surrounded by high vaulted ceilings and stain glass windows (some had been covered up which I think is a bit of shame because they are truly beautiful). Had a Cortado, and a Biscoff Latte; both were great, espresso was smooth, cute mugs, and excellent presentation and very friendly staff. After enjoying our warm bevy we perused the apothecary which had some fun whimsical and witty items from candles to potions (bath salts) to grandads ear wax (fudge). Wish they were open on a Sunday so I could come more often!
