I’m told I’m very critical over lunch time chippy food as I won’t pay over £6.50 for it as to me it’s to far to much, however I was pleasantly surprised at this £6.25 lunch time special, fish chips a side and either sausage or rissole in a tray, good value and well enough, tasty food and other chippys should take note because £8.50 and above is far to much for dinner time and I will not pay it !
Popped in as was passing and the lady and young man was lovely, chatting all the time I was in there whilst I was waiting for my food and also asked me upon arrival if I needed any help with the menu. The food is amazing and the staff are lovely chatty and polite and the lady even gave me two lollipops for my children. They even said how nice I smelt which was great to hear as I’ve just got a new perfume. Thank you really enjoyed it 😀

By far the WORST chip shop experience we've had in years. Chips are always pretty ropey from Davians but today they were clock cold, reheated and rubbery - just awful!! The fish were much, much worse though - bear in mind the extortionate price for fish, you should be assured of a decent taste. These were OLD - fishy, mushy and nasty, dirty tasting - they tasted that vile I'm not actually sure whether they were off or not - needless to say we didn't eat them. Fishcake was equally poor, fishy tasting too. Finally Chinese curry sauce - not at all Chinese curry sauce as anyone would recognise it - definitely a hybrid of chip shop curry they'd probably got left over and Chinese. Gravy was decent though - I'll give them that!! £30+ absolutely wasted on a disgusting dinner - we've not had chippy in donkeys years and there's not a chance in hell I'd return to Davians! Avoid at all costs.
Fish and chips is something you've really got to fancy and ive been wanting it for a few days now. And davians was the place you got value and quality. 8.95 for a fish special and it was not nice at all. Chips was really cold. Peas was cold and very dry you needed a drink with every bite and the fish was greasy and had a horrible aftertaste. Just gave up in the end and put it in the trash
