P&P Cobbler & Keys

Tried to give this place my custom on three occasions and failed every time. The first time I called during opening hours and found them to be closed with no explanation. A few years later I called them on the phone with a query and the person who answered lacked the knowledge to answer me and the person who could deal with my query was otherwise engaged. The third was a couple of weeks before Christmas 2024 and I went in for a Yale type key cut. I was told it wasn't possible as it was a Chinese copy. The lock and keys were actually from Screwfix so should have been a quite popular key - and it was. I then took the same key to Partners DIY in Swinton and told him he may not be able to help as apparently my key was rare. He took one look at it and said it was a standard key and reckoned he cut about forty of them a week. A minute or two later my key was cut. The cost was £3.50. If P&P could have done the job they would have charged me £4.50. So in my experience they are expensive and lack competence.

Well what a great service. Popped in to P&P cobblers to get my favourite boots repaired as the stitching had started to come loose after six years. Believing that I would have to say goodbye to what were an expensive pair of boots in the day and had served me well. Paul was brilliant telling me that he could fix them and also feed the leather and buff them to look like new. I picked them up a little later and I was astounded. They were revitalise and the repair was undetectable. An excellent service and very reasonable prices. Will definitely recommend and use again. It’s nice to see local trades doing quality repairs and keeping Rotherham town centre going. Thanks again P & P Cobblers & Keys👍
