After reading some of the negative reviews we decided to have lunch here with some trepidation. But, I'm pleased to say, it was a positive experience. We shared the coronation chicken sandwich and fish & chips. Both meals very good. The service from the female delivering the food was good but one of the guys behind the bar seemed more interested in talking to his friends at the bar than taking orders. Overall, I would say a good experience and would return if in the area again.

Set in the beautiful Runswick bay, this hotel is a good place to stop for a drink and something to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful, it's dog friendly. The food is good, menu varied. All in all a good place to stop rest, refuel before the walk up the mammoth hill

1st and last time il go thought we were going to have a nice meal i thought wrong. Took ages to be served family came in with there dog our food came the dog was sick tight next to us 🤢 no apology by the family trying to scoop it up absolutely disgusting no apology by the staff they were more bothered on the phones. I get the dog friendly pubs but that was something else. Our food was left wasted nearly £50 not one bit of notice taken by the staff fuming

Been here twice recently for lunch, excellent location and reasonable food, but the lads on the bar and serving food are so, so miserable and unattentive, the outside tables remained uncleared of previous customers finished drinks and plates, even when they brought the food out we had to ask them to clear the table. The toilets (certainly the men’s) are dire and need a major upgrade. Will give this place a miss in future.
